From the start of the 2024 season, footballers at the University of Lincoln can look forward to an exciting new partnership with Lincoln City Football Club. Our university men’s and women’s first teams will be selected, managed, and coached by professionals from the club.
From pre-season trials and training to post-match analysis, the Imps’ Academy specialists will support our student footballers with every element of their game with a new performance coaching programme. The club will help recruit squads through a trials day, designing and delivering first-team training and overseeing touchline decisions on matchdays of each home fixture.
The agreement builds on established links between the University and the Imps. The club employs many University of Lincoln graduate, while players and coaches benefit from access to university facilities and expertise through a variety of collaborations in teaching and research.
